Arteaga's book

"Standing there not taking a step I, in a small way like a mountain, made chaos, broke the flow of air from the sea in fragments like meaning."
alfred arteaga
I'm reading HOUSE WITH THE BLUE BED and I like getting to know more about Arteaga's life. I think I'm pretty lucky to have meet the authors of cool writing. I met June Jordan, who touched my life in a way that no one else will. I have also met and get to know Cherríe Moraga. This coming semester I'm taking a creative writing class with Alfred Arteaga.

I really hope being around poets will re-spark my mecha of words. And with every sigh, a river of words will spring from the middle of mi lengua, and my fingers will bleed in red and black.

As I write this letters I'm looking at my baby play in her walker. She's crazy with life. Laughs at no apparent reason, and like to scream out her joy. She's learning how to control her legs and hands. Gets mad when she gets stuck, but always manages to get out.

Everything is new and worth looking at. There's no hurry. And red and everything bright is a door to who knows what in her developing mind. Maybe she can see things we cannot, maybe she's an in-between. A xicana del universo y la tierra y la vida y el sueño. ....she loves it when alejandra dances with her. I never see alejandra as happy as when she's playing with quetzalli. both of them have precious smiles, if i had to guess how angels or mermaids sound like, i would say like my two beautiful princesses.

my new site project, yes, another one, is to start a little story series of what ever comes to mind. most of it is going to be science fiction, real short. things about time and aliens and politics will be cover. who knows, just to get the flow of words coming.

...mañana es un nuevo día, haber que nos trae el sol, haber con que nos deja la luna.
