I just put a cup of coffee in the microwave for less than a minute, like I usually do when it starts to get cold, and when I went to pick it up, I freaken burned my fingers real bad. I think it has to do with the paint the cup is covered with, I don't know what it has, so be careful people.
A lot of stuff has happened in my life since my last entry. I stopped working in Napa as Upward Bound's project developer and move to Salinas to work as a PE teacher for summer school. I broke up with Alejandra, than made up a week later. It was a serious fight, we were even talking about divorce. But we are back together again, and it looks like things are going to be alright. We were planning to go to a retreat for couples with problems, I didn't really want to because it's for catholic folks, and although I very much respect the religion, I'm not catholic and so I have a different perspective on things. But we didn't go because the day we were supposed to go, my car broke down in the freeway (it did, I swear).
One of the main radiator hoses completely ripped in heave traffic. I noticed that my car started getting hot and smoke was coming from the front and back of the car. I pulled to the side as quick as I could, but apparently, it was not quick enough and the motor got all messed up. One of those highway assistant trucks finally got to me after two hours of wait and gave the car a push with its big rubber bumper. Miraculously, the car started again (by this time, I had fixed the hose by pulling it and securing it again, since it had ripped at the very base).
But my good fortune only lasted for ten minutes, since the car overheated again, this time I had enough time to go into the city of Walnut Creek. I parked in down town, put two quarters on the meter, and called Salinas. No one was very eager to pick me up, it was about 5pm, rush hour. So I went to eat to a Taco Bell, yes, I sinned. But it was the only thing close and I didn't have much money, plus the attendant was kind of cute. Anyways, I ate my shell tacos and my Mexican pizza (I know, I'm a sinner). I didn't really mind being stranded, since I got to read my book DROWN. I love this book. I'll talk about it later on the book section of my site.
Finally, Ale picked me up around 10:30pm. Thanks babe.
Saturday, Abel and my mom took me to pick up the car. It was a relief to see my car there without a ticket. We tried to take it to the junk yard, but I couldn't find the pink slip, I know it's around

Alejandran's parents are buying a house and they want us to move with them. They are buying it together with this other family. It's a five bedroom house and Ale's family and me will take three rooms and the other family two. I hope that it works out, since it's going to be so much people in one house (9 or 10?). Luckily, I'm spending a night at Berkeley once a week once I start grad school. So, I'll have time to breath and be alone. I recently found out that I'm a loner. I actually like being alone, I guess so much driving (3 hour commute each way) without a radio, I got used to having time to think and fantasize. I'm buying a new car, I want a minivan, but I'm still not sure, but I really do need my four wheels.
